Yes, I am quite sure of it. I read before that prisoners were often deprived of sleep to make them spill the beans or ensure that they are more compliant.

Running on caffeine

And since moms are real experts at surviving it, perhaps we will make good spies and double agents a la James Bond and his like? 🙂 Yawn….Hand me that cuppa won’t ya? It’s not fair that they look so angelic when they finally crash out but meanwhile, we can’t even remember our names!

As you can tell from this post, I am not only severely sleep deprived but a little deranged by now too!

Sleep deprivation becomes the norm

Every time we get a newborn baby, I suffer from sleep deprivation. Some babies are a little kinder to me than others. But generally, until everyone adjusts, sleep deprivation is the norm in the 1st few months.

Btw, I have noticed that my even numbered children are better sleepers than the odd numbered ones.

Our firstborn, of course, was the guinea pig. He had to endure various methods of getting him to sleep until I finally figured out what to do when he was 3 or 4 months old. Our third child was terrible! Or so I thought until I had my fifth. Wow! That one made us throw out all our sleep theories and philosophies.

And now…we have #7….. Lord help me!

  1. Geesh me having the same feelings like you too. Very sleep deprived now and has been “admiring” the night sky and street lights whenever I can pry my eyes open during a bfding night session.

  2. welcome to the sleepless in s’pore club! : )

i know you’ve had tons more experience (and sleepless nights) than i have but i do honestly, sincerely sympathise and empathise.
