Someone recently implied that I shouldn’t complain about my children since I claim that children are blessings from God.
Let me state again : Children ARE blessings from God 🙂
But just because they are blessings from God, it does not mean that they come perfect or that they do not give us trouble or cause us grief.
And just because I complain about the work and mess they generate on top of their attitudes I have had to deal with does not mean they are not blessings from God.
It just means that they, like me, are sinners, prone to getting into trouble, be lazy, full of pride, amongst other sins of the flesh. And most importantly of all, it means that both they and me are desperately in need of a Saviour.
They are still blessings from God. However, they are blessings that I need to train and teach and disciple so that they become a blessing to those around them, shining forth the light of Jesus, serving the Most High God and not their flesh.
Yes, it is tiring. Yes the things they get up to gets old after a while especially when you have more than 2 children. Temper tantrum Version 7, anyone? 🙂 But that doesn’t change the fact that they are blessings sent by God to us.
To not complain and put forth the image that they are good and obedient all the time is a tad unrealistic, if not hypocritical, if I may say so.
