31 Days of Seeing God: Final Week

This is the FINAL Part of a 5-Part series of Seeing God in the Everyday. For the background on what they are about,
you need to visit Write 31 Days Challenge 2018 for a summary of the challenge.

Day #29

My Planner

When you juggle multiple things and especially when you reach a certain vintage (ahem!) you really should get a planner of some sort to write things down. And these days there is a plethora of them to choose from. Digital and paper.

I like paper planners. And again, so many choices: printed planners, printable planners, Bullet Journals, daily planners, weekly planners, monthly planners, the list goes on. There are just so many planners on the market that it is dizzying!

After experimenting with a few, I have finally found my sweet spot – a daily pseudo-bullet journal. Why a Bullet Journal? Well, many printed/printable planners have pre-made sections for you. But I usually do not need them or they are not structured in the way I prefer, leading to a lot of wasted space. In the end, I did up my own Bullet Journal in a Muji spiral bound, dot grid notebook. And it ended up being way cheaper than any brand name planners. (Psst…the headers on each page are done up by @esthersletters. Go follow her on Instagram.

For true blue bullet journaling, you should check out the Bullet Journal website. But if you prefer one that is pre-printed or a printable one, do check out my post on Planner Season and Choosing a Planner for my review on on a few of these planners.

Write 31 Days Wrap Up PostDay #30

Blogging

The Lord told me to start blogging way back in 2005. But it was a totally different kettle of fish back then. Things have changed so much since then. It takes up a lot more time now than it did before. Mostly because readers expect so much more from blogs now. So it isn’t as easy as just writing out a post and publishing it. One needs to look for images, set them up, and then edit the post so that information is delivered in bite sizes since attention spans nowadays are very short.

But I am grateful to have this platform to reach out to fellow mothers on this mothering journey.  Mothering is not easy. We all need encouragement, which is what the blog aims to do. I am grateful that the Lord gives me the words to write each week as I sit and stare at the laptop. He uses what little gift I have in writing to reach out and encourage mothers who feel alone and I am humbled. Although I am not sure where this blog is going I know that until He asks me to stop, I will just have to keep on writing and following His lead, week-after-week.

Day #31

WRAP UP

And so, today we wrap up 31 Days of Seeing God in the Everyday as part of the Write 31 Days Challenge. Thank you for journeying along with me as I sought intentionally to see God in the everyday and not just in the big things.

We all know how easy to see God in a rainbow or in a pretty flower but it is not as easy when you’re stuck at home with a pile of laundry calling to you or a temper throwing toddler. But He’s still there.

By intentionally looking out for God in the daily and oftentimes mundane things we are surrounded by, we become more aware that He is indeed with me all the time. It has also made me more grateful. Coz when you are busy looking for things to give thanks for, you won’t have the time to grumble. Unless you are really good at multi-tasking!

Remember to subscribe and get an eBook with practical tips on Surviving Motherhood and a weekly dose of encouragement.

And keep seeing God in your everyday!
