As we celebrated baby’s 1 month yesterday, it was also the 1st time we went out as an entire family in two cars!

Yes, for those of you who have been wondering how we are going to get around now that we have outgrown our MPV, our car problem has been solved by buying a second car. Why not get a van as many have asked. Well, the revised laws on vehicle ownership in Singapore make it almost impossible to own a van for personal use.:( So after much consideration, we decided to go with the second car, especially in view of the much lower COE prices in the past few months.

So what is our new car? Nothing fancy. Just a small and basic get-me-from-point-A-to-Point-B Kia Picanto. And we are so pleased that we bought it just at the right time! After we placed our order, the COE prices have been rising and rising! And of course, the best part was that we got the car just in time for us to celebrate baby’s 1 month birthday.

And if you are wondering why Kia and not Hyundai or Honda? Well, we just needed a small (1000 cc or less) basic car that dh can drive around on weekdays and we had a budget (small) in mind. The Picanto met all the criteria we set up for ourselves.

So no, please do not write and tell me how we should have bought xyz brand. We have made our decision, it suits our family’s needs & budget and we are all very happy with it.

Now everyone has a proper seat with the proper car seats fixed. The only downside is that yours truly can no longer just sit back and enjoy the ride 🙂

    • No dear. Even with the Picanto, to be safe and comfortable, we can only have one more 🙂 Otherwise we are back to THE SQUEEZE.
