The day after we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, our littlest blessing turned 1. That’s right, last year at our 14th wedding anniversary dinner at Peach Garden, Thomson Plaza, I was eating and having contractions that would bring forth a big little baby (4.3kg!) the next day 🙂

This child has turned our lives upside down and has kept us on our toes – literally! Ever since she burst forth into our lives, in our master bedroom, nothing has been predictable. Whatever I have learnt parenting 6 other children can be thrown away – ok, I exaggerate. But it sure has to be majorly modified for her!

Cheeky, full of spunk and totally energetic, she is into everything and anything ever since she could move. She kept us waiting one whole week after her EDD but has made up for that lost time by rushing through every physical developmental milestone.

I have written before in She’s 6 months old and Toddling here and there….. that she is our earliest crawler and of course our earliest walker. Since she took her first steps at 8 months, she has been going places. She now can climb (not crawl) up and down the stairs holding on to the banisters like a pro. She attemots to climb anything that she can get her chubby legs on. So she has been climbing up our dining table via her sister’s highchair! And she loves standing on tip toes to swipe anything and everything off all tables! Scary huh?

And her latest past time? Swirling her hand in the toilet bowl! Yes, yucks. But there you go, life is truly never unexciting with her around.

Just 2 days ago, her exasperated oldest brother said to me, “Mom! Send her away to childcare and pay them $500 more since she is so difficult to handle!” 😀 We really cannot leave her alone for more than 5 minutes. You just don’t know where she’ll be and what she’s getting into or at!

And then she smiles and everything is forgiven. She’s a charmer, this one 🙂

Yes, she’s 1 and in this one year, the Lord has taught me much. That I have a lot more of self that needs to die. That I need to remain humble and teachable even though I have 7 children. And that He trusts me to raise up 7 eternal souls for His kingdom though I am pitifully ill-equipped in my own strength.

Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy!
