Are you a new mom wondering if you can actually juggle motherhood while managing a home?
Are you a mom who has had a few years of experience under your belt but need some physical and spiritual encouragement?
Are you wondering how large families can survive and thrive in fast-paced Singapore?
YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE!
Why visit the blog?
Building Up Moms had its very humble beginnings as Building An Ark in Singapore back in July 2006 when I was pregnant with my 6th child. That blog was supposed to be more of a personal recording of my journey as a mother and along the way, share some tips to whoever wants to come by to read.
But when the Lord said to focus on encouraging mothers, I started Building Up Moms, specifically targetted at Christian stay-at-home mothers. I ran both for a while until I couldn’t handle it and so combined both into one blog. So now, you can find personal musings as well as posts in the blog that hopefully encourage mothers.
In today’s modern culture, a stay-at-home-mother (SAHM) is highly underrated. But it need not be so. If you strongly feel that this is what the Lord has called you to be and be only, or even if it is to be only for a season, let us all shine for His glory!
If you need encouragement, regardless of which season or stage of life you are in this mothering journey, I hope, through Building Up Moms, to share practical tips to manage our multiple roles, and to keep you company as we figure out this mothering thing together! 🙂
I know how tiring motherhood can be. I know how depressing it can get trying to maintain a decent home when you have little children around. I also know how privileged we are to be able to stay home and raise our children. And most of all, I know that with God, nothing is impossible!
Here at Building Up Moms, you can find posts on everything related to being a stay-at-home-mother, including homeschooling, since I am a homeschooler as well! You can check out the categories I blog on on the right column of this page. I have been writing about my journey for a long while and I have also changed a lot in these 18 years as a mother. But biblical principles are evergreen! And I most certainly have seen good fruit when I adhered to them and not so good fruit when I administered my own wisdom 🙁
Not an expert but a fellow traveller
But, please remember, I am no expert. If I ever come across as that, usually in my earlier posts when I had less children and lots more ego, I apologise. But having had this many children (7 in case you didn’t know 😉 ) and having lived through many of the seasons of motherhood and, am still in the throes of it, including being on the cusp of launching older children into the world, I have gained some experience and battle scars from mothering worth sharing! If nothing else, think of this blog as me being with you while you pour out your woes over a cup of coffee or tea or milo!
ALL mothers are welcomed here. Whether you are a full-time, part-time, married, single, Christian or non-Christian.
I am unabashedly a Christian and this blog is targetted at Christian, stay-at-home mothers. And so, some of my posts will contain faith statements. But there are also posts that do not. I am just putting this out here so that it is out in the open.
